Slade Were Just a Damn FUN Band, Now Weren't They?
I Mean, They Didn't Take Themselves Too Seriously, While Seriously Rockin' Out Loud!
They Weren't Out To Change The World Or Comment On Current Events...They Just Cranked Out Some Crazy, Cool Songs!
This First Bootleg Was Recorded By The BBC I Believe, So The Sound Quality's Up There!

NOTE: Apparently This One's The 2nd Part Of a New 2 CD Set Release: Live At The BBC

This 2nd Bootleg Is ANOTHER Good One!
IF You Wanna Get Away From All The Serious Bullshit The World Throws You, Put On Some Headphones And Get Into This One For Just a While...You'll Feel A Whole Lot Better!

Now, This Discussion Has Come Up Numerous Times On The Shout-Box (When We Could Dependably Use It Without Stupid Grade School Shit Interferin'...)
Is This Or Is This NOT Slade, Without Noddy Holder?
Are There Some Members That Just CAN NOT Be Replaced And The Band Go On?
YES! I Believe The Correct Answer Was Most Of The Time...
Example: QUEEN - Freddie Mercury Was Too Valuable (And Nothing Against Paul Rodgers - But Damn That Was A Bad Idea From The Git-Go!)
Also, Thin Lizzy, But I Won't Go There...
Are There Members That CAN BE Replaced and The Band Go On?
YES, Again Should Be The Answer - Many Bands Have Replaced Certain Members And Not Much Is Ever Said...
Example: Def Leppard - They Had Way More Success Without One Pete Willis...
And ALL The Bands In The World That Have Had About A Thousand Drummers...
Anyway, IF You Want To Hear What This Version Of Slade Sounds Like, Then Get This Good AUD Recording...Can YOU Be Open-Minded Enough To Give It A Listen OR Should You Just Listen To The Old Ones And Forget This Even Exists?
Your Choice 2 Do As You Pleeze!

Kind of ironic that this question about replacing band members is the first thing posted after a Bon Scott AC/DC entry...
I saw these guys once in Providence...not much musically, but not a bad show.
hate to bring a downer here but with this copyright thing going round and ruining sites, not sure how this effect this one but the slade london 72 formS the 2nd disc of their "Live at the BBC" cd release which is available from Amazon if you want to check it out
I saw Slade at the Marquee in London in March 1980 about 6 months before their triumphant comeback at the Reading Festival. They were awesome, simply the best gig I have ever seen. They played all of Slade Alive and most of the hits. I lost count of the number of encores, Merry Christmas was the third and they played at least two more.
The 1975 boot is also a BBC Radio 1 In Concert and is excellent. If you search Filetram and Rapidmore.com you should find several more bootlegs from '73 to '81. The US ones are Radio Shows which are not as good as the UK shows simply because the band are struggling with a subdued audience - but still worth seeking out.
Why America didn't get Slade I don't know -it was their loss!
Needless to say I wouldn't recommend Slade without Noddy and Jim!
Big IAN Thanks for the Heads-Up on The New Set Release - I Didn't Know That!
